Abstract Contains first-hand accounts on Dasgupta’s field-visits to Bastar, Betla and Burdwan between 1975 and 1977 including details on ritualistic, economic, cultural, and religious life of the indigenous communities like Malhar of Dariapur Village, Burdwan engaged in Dokra crafts. Also, contains valuable information on the works of anthropologist and biologists such as Bronisław Malinowski, Desmond Morris, R.F. Ewer, George B. Schaller, Thelma Rowell, and S.P. Shahi; notes on Helmut Gernsheim’s text on photography, and on Bishop Stephen Hislop’s tract ‘Papers relating to the Aboriginal Tribes of the Central Provinces’ (1866).
