| Abstract | Damodar P. Singhal’s research materials on Britain and Russia’s rivalries over Afghanistan and Central Asian territories, known as the ‘Great Game,’ as well as British India’s diplomatic and frontier policies in Afghanistan and the North-West Frontier Province. These include confidential memoranda, secret letters and reports by the Government of India on taxation, trade, law, border disputes, foreign relations and military operations. Also included are notes on the history of the then-ruling Barakzai dynasty of Afghanistan, copies of letters exchanged between the Amirs of Afghanistan’s and Russian authorities known as ‘Russian Correspondence with Kabul’ and various treaties signed by Britain and other powers. |
