Abstract Damodar P. Singhal’s research materials on British India’s diplomatic and frontier policies East Africa, Arabia, the Persian Gulf, Burma and the Red Sea. These include confidential memoranda and correspondence between British officials on consular jurisdiction in Persia, as well as matters relating to border disputes and claims of sovereignty over territories near the Somali coast, Persian Gulf, the Red Sea and Burma. The file also contains details of the commercial treaty signed between Britain and Burma in 1862.
