Abstract The file contains K. Santhanam's writings on the Indian Republic and its trajectory. It includes newspaper clippings, undated typed articles and drafts of writing on the need for a new vision for India, the future of Indian leadership in the article, 'The Immediate Task of Nehru's Successor' (1964), India under Lal Bahadur Shastri, political demoralisation, threats to Indian democracy, the emergency since the Indo-China war of 1962, the problems faced by India, the achievements of the Indian Republic, development and welfare and the role of workers in India's progress, social revolution in India, and the relationship between journalism and politics.
