Abstract Materials pertaining to the constitution, parliamentary democracy, and the roles of the Prime Minister, President, and Governor. It contains newspaper clippings, typed and draft articles on constitutional law and conventions, amendments to the Indian Constitution, fundamental rights, directive principles of state policy, the art of government, presidential rule and dictatorship in India, mass demonstrations, and the prospect of responsible government. Articles include 'Governors Must Play Active Role' (Hindu, 19-11-1960), 'Supreme Court and Parliament' (Hindustan Times, 7-10-1964), 'Parliamentary Govt: Conventions and Proprieties' (Mail, 11-11-1964), and other articles published in Swarajya Weekly, Statesman, Indian Nation, and Hitavada. There is also Santhanam's letter to a newspaper editor on a Supreme Court ruling on fundamental rights (4-3-1969); his articles 'The President of India' published in the Journal of Constitutional and Parliamentary Studies (September 1969), and 'Two Serious Gaps in the Rule of Law' (1978) and 'Emancipation or Exploitation' (1978) sent to The Indian Express.
