| Abstract | Papers relating to India�s economic policies. They include press clippings and writings on income tax and excise duties, rationing and price control, the Union and State budgets, inflation and deficit financing, industrial licensing, the introduction of naya paisa, elimination of poverty, and foreign exchange. Contains �Trends in Finances of State Govts� (Hindu, 23-8-1959), �The Third Finance Commission� (Mail, 3-1-1961), �A Realistic Trade Policy� (Hindustan Times, 30-6-1964), �The State Of Our Economy� (Hitavada, 29-1-1965), �A Healthy Composite Economy� (Swarajya Annual, 1965), �Devaluation and After (Eastern Economist, 17-6-1966), �The Immediate Problems� [1966]. It features writings on national progress and welfare, unemployment and the right to work, economic growth and social justice, and his response to a questionnaire on resource mobilization (1971). K. S. Ramanujam�s notes for a newspaper report on the conclusion of a 4-day meeting of the Finance Commission headed by K. Santhanam in Madras, a copy of K.S. Ramanujam�s newspaper report on India�s industrial policy, and a transcription of Shri Aravamudhan�s speech on industrial development sent to K. Santhanam (7-9-1972) are also present. |
