| Abstract | The file contains papers related to politics and economics in Tamil Nadu. It includes articles and press clippings on the DMK, its relationship with the Congress Party, DMK�s policies related to prohibition and social security, strikes at medical institutes in Vellore, DMK�s decision to reduce ceilings on agricultural holdings, industrial development in Madras such as the Salem Steel Plant, and the imposition of Presidential Rule in Tamil Nadu in 1976. There are also two articles by K.S. Ramanujam�s on M.G. Ramachandran (MGR) and the All India Anna Dravidar Munnetra Kazhagam (AIDMK) (1978), and a newspaper clipping, �Behind the AIDMK make-believe� by S. Srinivasan (1984). |
